Grain Cleaning

Grain Cleaning is a key link in agricultural production and grain processing. Its main purpose is to remove impurities in grains, such as dust, husks, stones and other foreign matter, while avoiding damage to the grains themselves. Common grain cleaning methods include wind selection, screening, gravity separation and magnetic separation, which are applicable to a variety of grains such as wheat, corn, rice, soybeans, and oats. Screening technology uses a vibrating screen to achieve size classification of impurities and grains, and is the mainstream means of batch cleaning; the wind selection system uses airflow to separate light impurities (such as chaff and dust), and the light impurity removal rate can reach 99%.

Grain Cleaning equipment can be selected according to different needs: 5XZ-5 (5-8t/h) and TQLZ-150×200 (15-20t/h) vibrating screens can quickly separate large impurities such as straw and sand and gravel; 5XFZ-25 (20-25t/h) combined cleaner removes 99% of light impurities such as husks and dust through airflow; SCY-63 drum screen (60-80t/h) can be selected for high-yield occasions, and MQRF-45 (10-12t/h) specific gravity stone remover is specially used to remove heavy impurities such as stones and metals, especially suitable for rice and beans finishing.

Grain Cleaning Methods

Grain Cleaning uses the differences in size, density and aerodynamic characteristics between grains and impurities, and uses a variety of technologies for separation, mainly including the following methods: Screening method: Use vibrating screens or rotary screens to separate impurities step by step using screens with different apertures. The larger aperture screen can remove large impurities such as stones and straw, while the smaller aperture screen can screen out fine impurities such as broken grains and sand. It is suitable for large and uniform grains such as wheat and corn, and the screening efficiency can reach more than 90%.

Wind separation method: With the help of the airflow generated by the fan, impurities are separated according to the difference in particle specific gravity and suspension speed. Light impurities (such as husks and dust) are carried away by the airflow, and heavy grains are settled and collected. It is suitable for small grains such as millet and oats, and the impurity removal rate after wind separation can reach 85%.

Gravity sorting: Using a specific gravity stone remover or a gravity table, materials with different densities are separated through vibration and airflow. Light impurities such as moldy grains and immature grains float up, and full grains sink. It is suitable for rice, soybeans, etc., with a sorting accuracy of more than 95%.

Magnetic separation method: Permanent magnetic rollers or magnetic fences are used to absorb magnetic metal impurities such as iron filings and screws mixed in grains, and the magnetic field strength is not less than 800 Gauss. Applicable to all grain processing links, with a metal impurity removal rate of over 99%.

Grain Cleaning Equipment Selection

The selection of grain cleaning equipment needs to comprehensively consider multiple factors such as grain type, processing volume requirements, impurity content, degree of automation and energy consumption level: different grains are suitable for different cleaning methods, for example, rice needs to use a stone remover, while wheat is more suitable for wind screen combined cleaning; small farms can choose compact cleaners, while large processing plants need to be equipped with high-capacity systems; for grains with high impurity content, multi-stage cleaning processes may be required; modern cleaning equipment is usually equipped with automatic control systems, which can significantly improve operating efficiency and consistency; at the same time, the selection of low-power equipment can help reduce operating costs and achieve more economical production operations. The following are the specific models and output ranges of several common grain cleaning equipment: 5XZ-5 wind screen cleaner: with an output of 5-8 tons/hour, it is suitable for the initial cleaning of grains such as wheat and corn, equipped with a double-layer vibrating screen and fan, which can efficiently separate light impurities and large particles.

TQLZ-150×200 vibration cleaning screen: the output is 15-20 tons/hour, it uses an eccentric block vibration motor, suitable for large and medium-sized grain depots, and can remove large impurities such as straw, sand and gravel.

SCY-63 drum primary cleaning screen: the output is 60-80 tons/hour, designed for high output, the drum screen structure can handle raw grains with high impurity content, and is often used in ports or large processing plants.

MQRF-45 specific gravity stone remover: the output is 10-12 tons/hour, combined with wind selection and vibration screening, it can effectively remove heavy impurities such as stones and metals, and is suitable for fine cleaning of rice or beans.

5XFZ-25 combined cleaning machine: the output is 20-25 tons/hour, integrated wind selection, screening and specific gravity selection, multi-stage cleaning, suitable for seed processing or high-standard finished grain processing.

Grain Cleaning is a key step to ensure that high-quality grain enters the consumption and deep processing links. The selection of cleaning methods and equipment needs to be combined with factors such as grain type, processing volume and impurity level. By reasonably selecting cleaning methods (such as wind selection, screening, specific gravity sorting, etc.) and matching equipment (selected by grain type, impurity type, and processing volume), impurities can be effectively removed and grain quality can be improved. Equipment selection should match the grain variety, impurity type and production capacity requirements: vibrating screens are suitable for large grains such as wheat and corn; circulating air separators are effective for small grains such as millet and oats; gravity stoners can efficiently separate moldy grains from rice and soybeans; and magnetic separators can 100% remove metal impurities such as iron filings. At the same time, choosing a reliable supplier can ensure equipment stability and after-sales service.
